My name is JR Schuster, son of Jerry Schuster + Jean Schuster, old timer with the Hilltoppers. I want to inform all the old timers that my Dad Jerry Schuster, A.K.A. "Hair Von Schuster" ( because he wore a WWI German Kaiser helmet with the gold knob on top), passed away in Pioneer Ca. on December 26th 2009, after a long battle with cancer. My Dad + Mom raised us kids racing and trail riding motorcycles in Washington state where he and my Mom Jean owned a motorcycle shop and Hodaka dealership. Among his personal items left to me I received a scrap book that was copiled by my Mom which included many articles, race results, and photos of many of the old timers. Some of the names include George Everett, Tex Luce, Elmer Rasmussen, Ken Maley, Charley Burgess, Dave Schuler, Bob Songren, Charlie Cripps, Don Hawley, Lyle Ottley, Feets Minert, Emory Eugene Mckean, Bud Ekins, Ed Kretz and many more. My Dad spoke often of the many friends he had in the Hilltoppers and other clubs. I would like to thank all those who new him and were a part of many good memories that he had. October 7th + 8th of 2000 my brothers Steve and Larry, my son Jeremiah and I had the oppertunity to attend The Del Mar mile in San Diego, Ca. where we met many of the members young and old of the Hilltoppers. Motorcycles are a way of life for many of us. It is in our blood. I pray that everyone will ride safe. May my Dad rest in peace.
